Hello Everyone,
I'm about to start building the FX Model's Alvin DSV in 1/8 scale and would like to correspond with anyone who has built - or is in the process of building - this sub. This will be my first RC submarine project but I am a fairly experienced model builder (RC boats, armor and static of same). I've been lurking this forum for several months and now that I've received my "kit" from FX Model's I decided to take the plunge and introduce myself. I've searched the forums and archives but have found very little information on the Alvin.
I hope to set up a web site soon to provide progress updates on the Alvin. I will be using an Engel piston tank for ballast and have a few other ideas in mind (like machining a functioning robotic arm) but I'm very much still in the early planning stages, so I'd be delighted to get some input and suggestions as the project proceeds. I look forward to contributing to this great site!
