I am a member of the local Submarine Veterans group (Boise Base of USSVI). We are working on a long term project which involves ultimately bringing the sail of the USS Boise (SSN-764) to Boise to be part of the Submarine Veterans Memorial. That portion of the project is obviously years away.
In the interim, part of the project is to have a “counterfeit” sail constructed to be used in the project. We have having difficulty finding the drawings/dimensions of the SSN 688I sail. We have dimensions of the earlier sail (SSN 688) with fairwater planes and have a drawing that shows the outside dimensions of the sail to be the same - but we aren’t sure of the accuracy, particularly the one that shows both to be of the same dimensions.
Do any of you have reliable drawings/dimensions of the 688I sail that you would be willing to share with us? OR can you confirm that the outside dimensions of the 688 sail and the 688I sail are the same/different?
Thanks.
