Teaching RC Subs in New South Wales State schools.

I am an industrial arts teacher in NSW Australia. For years the dept of education has been pushing all sorts of technology innovation in high schools. One of the main ones being CO2 cars. A colleague sent me this link I did'nt know they were branching out into subs. Looking at the manual to build a full RC sub, it would require a lot of work.

I think it's a bit ambitious for year 7-8 (13-14 year olds) but maybe year 12. Anyway I would be really interested in what people think. I told them about my model submarine activities, I'm possibly the only technology teacher in NSW that scratch builds RC subs, they were'nt really interested.

I wish programs like this were around when I was in school! Very interesting.
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

That's similar to the SeaPerch program here in the USA, partly sponsored by the US Navy.
