I found it interesting that its deep enough to dive close to the harbor...next day I go talk to a friend
at work that was in navigation on one of the old sturgeons, I ask him...how deep is the water near Murmansk...
he smiled and said..deep enough...

Kola Bay (Russian: Кольский залив) or Murmansk Fjord is a 57-km-long fjord of the Barents Sea that cuts into the northern part of the Kola Peninsula.
It is up to 7 km wide and has a depth of 200 to 300 meters.
The Tuloma and Kola Rivers discharge into the bay.
