    ww1 U-boats

I would like to introduce myself by starting a thread on the U-boat of WW1,specifically the ocean-going ones that have largely gone unnoticed, apart from the U-Kreuzers.My particular interest is in the UE 11 series of mine layers,of which nine were built by two companies. As it turns out, I reckon it is possible to tell, not only who built the boat but its number, given a reasonable side view. After surrendering to the British, all U-boats had their numbers painted on the conning tower.
Generally speaking, information specific or otherwise on the larger U-boats is pretty thin on the ground,;I for one have little idea how the mines were ejected from the UE11's rear end. Also there are a number of questions that need to be answered about some of the deck fittings.I look forward to hearing from anyone with a similar interest.
    Until then,
    Cheers,

You most likely have read this.
It came up in the search rather quickly.

Just interested, does anyone have any info on SM U-73? Theory has it that her mines sank HMHS Britannic.
