    Wanted Type XXIII plans/ drawings

    I am in need of some drawings/plans/books for the German type XXIII coastal submarine. I am trying to purchase the book "von original zum model type XXIII" but having no luck. Can anyone help me. Maybe where to buy the book in the US or send a xerox copy of some drawings/ email pics etc.................any info is appreciated

          I got my "Vom Modell..."

          I got my "Vom Modell..." from Amazon.de... The AltaVista page translator may help. Also, most large bookstores can order it as well for you.

          You're probably wanting the 'Planrolle' (reduced copies of which are in the back of the book) ISBN 3-7637-6008-3.

              What is the procedure for buying overseas? Do I use my credit card and the money is automatically converted to US? Has anyone done this?

                  I too use amazon.de to direct order a number of my U-boat books. The German web site is set up exactly like the English language site, including the graphics and such.....that should help in navigating.

                  You can use your VISA/MC/etc. and they will do the currency conversion for you.

                  The last time I ordered something from amazon.de, I had it in my hands in about 5 business days. Execellent service!

                  I would tend to refrain from providing photocopies of the plans in the book since it is copyrighted material....

                      It's no problem.... The currency

                      It's no problem.... The currency conversion is all handled by the banks/cc companies. If you can translate the site, it's pretty much 'standard' shopping cart format, with some specific linguistic flair. Be aware of currency conversion rates, I believe the Euro is trending up vs the dollar, which you'll be advised of when you get your CC statement.
