    go to any automotive supply

go to any automotive supply place (NAPA, etc.) and get the red lacquer body putty...same thing basically. wet sand for best results.

        I am using Nitro Stan

I am using Nitro Stan on my Alfa build. I got it from a store that sells bodywork materials.Look in the yellow pages under automotive and see if you have one local. It has a good result.
Matt also recoomended Plasticote # T-235 Lacquer primer which I find easily at Pep Boys or other automotive stores. That stuff works great! It shows imperfections, dries quickly, and looks good. I give that a big thumbs up to use as you build.

I will have to check out my local pep boys for the primer.

I got a tube of Lacquer glazing putty "red oxide" from napa. Is this the right stuff? It says it is used for filling sand scratchs, file marks and other imperfection, and to apply it to the primer coat.
