Just because, some of us should get together and fund a REAL R/C gas/electric sub. Not a model of a U-boat that is all battery powered, but a real gas electric boat. I can't build it, but someone should. The technology is there. One or two gas motors with generators and a voltage/amp regulator and some batteries for the dives.
My knowledge is limited to steam power (which is how I know they make mini generators), so if I try to build it, it'd be less cool hybrid, and more pipe bomb, like a K-class.
Seriously though, like a Guppy or a Gato. Why haven't we done this yet?
