Oh noooo! Water softener spots - Removing water softener spots

I have a question to those of you who may have had a similar problem. How does one remove spots from a hull after it has been exposed to "softened water"?

I recently was trimming out my bluefish after the 'perfect' paint and weathering job had been applied. The water used is being treated by a new water softener and I didn't consider the implications of what the treated water might do to the paint. After the boat dried, I noticed large white splotches all over.
I have since tried rinsing with untreated water and an application of vinegar as suggested for hardwater stains in an earlier post. Unfortunately that didn't do the trick.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

On the rare occasion that I've had a stubborn stain or spot, I've used a bit of Meguirer's Swirl Remover to get rid of it.

(Swirl Remover....as in the automotive product used to remove very fine scratches from the painted surface on a car)
