Hello All,
This past summer I purchased two autographed photos of Erich Topp from Theodore P. Savas. Ted edited the book "Silent Hunters: German U-Boat Commanders Of World War II." Erich Topp wrote the chapter dealing with the life of Engelbert Endrass and he expressed a great sense of loss of his dearest friend.
Photo #1:
Oberleutnant zur See Erich Topp – U552
awarded the Knights Cross 20 June 1941
(2 July 1914 - 26 December 2005)
Photo #2:
18 December 1941 Erich Topp bids fair
well to his friend Kapitänleutnant
Engelbert Endrass – U567 was lost north
of the Azores with all crew members
(2 March 1911 – 21 December 1941)
I laid out the format and had the black mat laser cut to accept the 8 x 10 photos with the autographs. I hand painted the background scene and had my project framed. I had some glare from the camera flash; please excuse my screw up...
Regards,
