Sonar and guidance - what kind of devices?

    Hi
What kind of sonars should the surface going ships have to get a clue of where the subs are?
Of course the sonar must be able to transmit the data wireless, does anyone know any??
Also Im wondering, I've read about a gadget that would show you where your sub is heading at what speed and which depth, does anyone know the name of this gadget? and where it can be found?

I know of a wireless sonar that some of the guys at www.marinerc.com were trying out in their Engel typhoons.

Novagator do you recall the name of it?
I also have a engel typhoon, but as for sonar I was thinking that the battleships could be equipt with it instead of me, in order to find and try to sink my sub
      They will die trying

Hmmm that one looked very cool, looks like its going to be dangerous for me after all
but I don't really understand does the sonar check the area beneath or do you drag it along the bottom??
I mean if you connect it to you bait then its gotta go down into the water right? or does it check both over and under??

            The sonar is a float,

The sonar is a float, it will float at the surface of the water, check what is below and send the information back to shore.
I have one installed in the 206 I am building. It seems to work very good. Check out my website for info on how to retro fit one in a submarine.

but if it is supposed to be at the surface as any other then there shouldn't be any problems putting it on a warscale ship!
hmmm depth charges here I come =)
Thierry regarding those pictures are you able to take them?

                    Sorry Skuggan but I sold

Sorry Skuggan but I sold my typhoon a few months ago. Therefore I cannot take pictures of it anymore.
However I have a few ideas on how to improve the Engel Typhoon (mostly to get rid of the WTC, that thing is humongous and a pain the butt !). So feel free to email me.

I've been reading your website and wondered about the coaxial antenna. Wonder if you could be more specific about how you've made the antenna.
