    Glennard P Lipscombe - Info

    G'day all,

I'm looking for information on the (Sturgeon class?) USS Glennard P lipscombe. I got on to a search engine and could'nt find a single website on her. Even Ron Martini's big links page did'nt have anything on it.

was she a stretch version of the Sturgeon? sources tend to be a bit vague on this one.

Thinking of possibly modelling her. Hard to get drawings of her

    regards,

    David Hughes.

      Hi David. The Lipscombe was,

Hi David. The Lipscombe was, basically, a stretch hull 637. You can find some PICs of her at]http://www.navsource.org/archives/subidx.htm[/url]
I was aboard USS Cavalla (SSN-684) which was, some what, similar, at least externally. I still have a fairly good drawing of her scanned into my computer. The major external difference was the sonar "pimple" on her nose. If you'd like a copy, email me and I'll send it as an attachment.
Deep Sea Designs has a nice drawing of a basic 637, as well.

Make the subject line "Lipscombe", so I know who it is.
