Say, that reminds me. I don't suppose that anyone has some good resources for the Japanese C1 type (I-16, 18, 20, 22, & 24) and B1 types (I-15, 17, 19, etc)? I've been facinated with the Japanese subs and both of those are on my to-do list. With the rate at which I'm able to dredge up info, I should probably start now.

One would think that the B1 type would have a fair number of resources. . .

      Matt,

There's considerably more info available on the B1 class. My same list of references applies for this class, as well as the B2, B3, C1, C2, and C3 classes. In fact, the Gakken #17 which is known for the I-400 class info it contains, has great pics of an I-19 model (as well as an I-180 model) in it.

ThorDesign is currently working on a new 1/48 scale I-19 hull, according to the ThorDesign website (see the product news section).

Lee Upshaw at The Scale Shipyard also has a 1/48 scale I-19 hull kit. I think that Thierry's I-19 sub is an SSY hull.

I apologize for being a pain in the rump, but are there any of your references that you'd particularly recommend for the B1 class (I-15)? I ask because I have to buy these sight unseen (typically off of eBay) and I've gotten some really disappointing Maru specials, never mind the fact that they re-use the same photos over and over.

        Thanks,
        Matt
