    On Eternal Patrol

It is of great sadness to inform you, that we have lost one of our own last year.

Paul Vilagi has passed away on December 18th, 2014. His wife Claudia Vilagi has given me the sad news.
Paul has fought a long hard brave battle with liver disease, he always kept positive and up beat while fighting to get well, Paul was waiting for a liver transplant when sadly time and luck ran out for him. His wife Claudia takes some small comfort in the knowledge that Paul is no longer suffering.
For those of us who knew him, he was a good dear friend. His soft spoken humor and kind thoughtfulness made him one of the best of us. He was a long time member of the SubCommittee and will always be known as an innovator and a great boat builder who's work brought him praise for his skills and his attention to details from his fellow in Mare Island chapter and the SubCommittee. Paul really enjoyed his times hanging out with us and participating in the Fun Runs in S.F. He will be missed.

This picture of Paul was taken at the 2008 Fun Run.

If you wish to send your condolences and prayers to Claudia Vilagi, I am sure she will appreciate it very much. The mailing address is 1584 Abobe Dr. Pacifica. CA 94044

Thank you for taking the time to read this post and let keep the memory of Paul Vilagi in our thoughts.

    Peace,

If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

So sorry to hear it, David. I only knew him through the SF Fun Run coverage in the SCR each year but I always enjoyed seeing him and his boats at the event. My condolences to the family.
      Warm regards,

      Paul Crozier

        David,

Many thanks for posting this as we discussed. And the other day I did send an nice card to Claudia with special thoughts, memories and several photos of Paul attending the SanFran Fun Run over the years. Hope she'll find some comfort in that.

Guys who didn't know him: Paul was a VERY talented modeler and truly a gentle soul. He shall be much missed at our events.
