Yesterday was spectacular. This year Don3 and Renee rented the pavilion for the day which made the setup, display and cooking much more enjoyable. As usual our Canadian friends joined us, bearing boats and butter tarts, and Jim Butt joined us for the day as well. Many thanks to Brenda and Teresa for the butter tart donations, they are / were excellent as always and we had no trouble sending the few home that didn't get devoured at the event (see picture below). Greg and Laura provided delicious cookies and Chex Mix in two heat ranges, Amy and Luke provided sailboat cookies and deviled eggs, Don May provided all the meat and performed an excellent job as the official SubRon8 chef as always. Lets just say nobody left hungry!
Additional friends and family joined us for a while as well to help us enjoy the fun and sun even more. The rest of the group provided snacks, salads and cold drinks to round out the picnic fare.
The weather was great, though a little windy. Wind just kept the subs submerged, where they belong but Larry and David had to brave it with their surface craft. Thanks to all that helped make this day so much fun! Can't wait till next year!
