I will not be able to make it. Bummer.
Steve, I still have a house warming gift for you from when you opened up the new shop. Someday, I will get it to you.
Please take a lot of pictures so I can live vicariously through you.
Peace,
tom
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.
This April 24th gathering is still going on isn't it?
Still working to get my Skipjack boat operations.
At least most of it.
Water testing coming up.
Water testing is looking like next week if all goes well.

Not chatty? Maybe that's why they call it The Silent Service (nyuk, nyuk).
Actually, I heard from Tom Chalfant ("Salmon") just last night, and contrary to earlier reports, he's now planning to join us at our Fun Run this month after all. This was wonderful news, since he'll be coming in all the way from Vegas, as he did last year. It also means our ENTIRE contingent from last year is now signed on to attend, plus two others who'd hoped to come last time but couldn't make it. Good to see the squadron roster at full complement!
Oh, just to be absolutely clear, our gathering is planned for Saturday the 25th (not the 24th).
Well Bob just sent me the new and enlarged rudders for the R10 so she should be able to turna bit more me thinks. She all checks out and the new rudders are installed.
Next to do a systems check on the big Nautilus and I'm good to go.

Collision Speed, Full, Steve! Can't wait to see her run! Wanna check out her surfaced turning radius and get a close look at her gimbaled prop system...
Thanks, Jeff, for correcting the date.
Saturday 25th, Saturday 25th, Saturday 25th....got it, now.
That gives me one more day on the Skipjack build.
Currently I have a surface runner.
By the end of today, I should have all the parts to finish the ballast system and soldier everything together.
Then trimming.
I can finish the working sail planes and mast later.
