I have always thought it would be great to run in front of the Lincoln Memorial.
The water in front of the Capital building is kind of dirty ,I may have been there on a bad day.

For a group of folks to run their boats, you need to apply to the Nat'l Parks Service.
We used to run at the Capitol reflecting pond, which was clean back then. I think it gets drained, cleaned and refilled each Spring. The more commonly recognized reflecting pond near the Lincoln Memorial is someplace that could possibly be better for running.....
There's a group that usually runs at the reflecting pond. The website went down a while ago, but I've been told it was starting back up again. I went down there last year and it was a great place to run.
