Careful Jeff, he may want to pull the plug and drain your pond.

        No ,no real reason.
I have always thought it would be great to run in front of the Lincoln Memorial.
The water in front of the Capital building is kind of dirty ,I may have been there on a bad day.

          Paul,

For a group of folks to run their boats, you need to apply to the Nat'l Parks Service.

We used to run at the Capitol reflecting pond, which was clean back then. I think it gets drained, cleaned and refilled each Spring. The more commonly recognized reflecting pond near the Lincoln Memorial is someplace that could possibly be better for running.....

p.s. great to meet you (and Eric) too!

            Jeff,
Are you making the trip down to N.C. this year?

Not this run. Our local sub group has our first indoor run of the year.....

Yes...basically a small amount to cover the servies of a life guard. It's about $25/30.

It definitely helps that one of our members belongs to that YMCA.

There's a group that usually runs at the reflecting pond. The website went down a while ago, but I've been told it was starting back up again. I went down there last year and it was a great place to run.

The photos above are in the Capitol Reflecting Pool.

I heard on the news last week that the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool will be closed for at least a year for maintenance.

Oh, so the rumor is true.
I have herd they were going to put a filtration system in to try and keep the water a little cleaner.
