Sept 11 Fun Run at Sub Base New London

Well gent it seems we are right around the corner for this event and I wanted to touch base with a few of you on the food.

I will be bringing the smoker out there this year early in the morning to get us a good meal going.

So far the plan is to do some tri tip, picnic pork butt, and brisket (if I can find some)

My question you all of you. Does anyone have some food allergies I should know about before I start the dry rub and injections of these meats?

I also wanted to see who was going to show up earlier on fri.

I'll be showing up mid- late-afternoon and am assuming that we'll do the usual dinner gathering at some place like the Olive Garden?

That sounds like a good start for lunch on Saturday. Make sure that Tony brings the road kill.

white dogs? Those are excellent smoked! Actually most everything is! Especially toot. I will make sure the RSW tug fleet quarters it before cooking though.

I am going to inject one of the meats with a jalepeno butter sauce...which you guys think I should do.

Dont forget to give me a call when you guys get in on Friday. Will you be staying at the hotel with the flanagans and DD?

...Flanagans.......that's the Best Western on Rt 12, just north of Rt 95, yes? That's where I usually stay.

why is it cheaper? Certainly not closer.
A bit late now but next time we should contact the Navy lodge and see if we can get everyone in there...that would be best I think.

The Saturday night rate for the Best Western is almost double the Friday night rate.....I'm guessing due to the casino crowd? That makes the Red Roof Inn quite attractive.
