Tualatin Crawfish Festival August, 14th 2010

The past few years, SubCom Inland Passage has made an annual trek south to
Tualatin Oregon and sailed their submarines during the Crawfish Festival in August.

With the passing of Erv Crosby, I would hate to see this annual regatta cease to exist.
I have not heard if anyone has taken up Erv's position, but I would like to extend an
invitation to the remaining members of SubCom IP to continue their event at Tualatin.

August 14th, two of us will be hosting a maneuvering event, for targets, an afternoon event
for Tug boats, and an evening run with lighted gates for anyone that stays or returns Saturday evening.
We are still expecting model boat clubs, or members from Seattle, Burnaby BC, Spokane, Idahoe,
San Francisco, and possibly Arizona to attend this August 14th regatta. It would be great to see the
submariners continue to be a part of this event.

Speak up and let us know you are still out there, and can attend.

Gentlemen how about helping Umi_Ryuzuki out and let her know if you would be interested in attending the Tualatin craw fish festival, Erv would generally run the Submarine even for this festival. You probably know it as the Portland Pacific Northwest Sub regatta, could please respond as soon as possible to aide in planning and set up of the event.

    Thank You
    Myles

As we have not heard from anyone in the Pacific Northwest, we will probably open the area,
typically reserved for submarines, for open sailing.

I know you guys are probably all headed for Carmel, but if anyone does have, or take the
time to come back to Tualatin, August 14th, we can share the pond as required...

      http://www.tualatincrawfishfestival.com ... hedule.php

We will be running the regular maneuvering course at the South end of the pond.
Perhaps locate the loose Barge recovery to the North end where the submarines typcally run, and
then run the Offshore construction event in the afternoon.

Perhaps earlier in the day we perform a crane launch of one of the submarines.

          Hi NP,

August is tug month in the Pacific Northwest.

Saturday the 14th is the Crawfish festival. The crane was specifically built for this years event.

Saturday the 21st is Foss Cup in Seattle(Bellevue), WA. Barge maneuvering, and stricken ship recovery.
Sunday the 22nd is Burnaby Regatta, Burnaby BC, Central Park. This year is harbor tug maneuvering, and Escort tug braking maneuver.

It is worth considering a trip out for a week.

It would be worth it just to see all those fun projects you work on from all the other forums. Unfortunately it is a very long drive for me or my little monsters would participate.

It looks like there are going to be at least 4 subdrivers there this year, me, Dallas, Kye and Duane.
Sorry I didn't reply earlier but have been unavailable for awhile.

                Mark,
Would you like the North end reserved for subs, or do
you want to sail in the general population?

The north end usually works best.

I would like to thank all those who showed up to the Crawfish Festival. I hope that next year we can get a few more of the submariners.
Who was driving the Soviet Alpha Class that I was talking subs with.
