    I think we have forgotten

I think we have forgotten two of the highlights of the run; white hot dogs and the world's best cheesecake!

      A special thank you to

A special thank you to EVERYONE who was there this weekend. You all made it well worth the 10+ hour drive. THANK YOU! Not only did I get to see some old friends, but also make some new ones.

It was wonderful being able to see the base again. Last time I was there was exactly a decade ago, at SR '99. ...and so far I'm 2 for 2 in sneaking up to the fence and getting a shot of boats parked at the dock

        Without question, the best moment

Without question, the best moment of the fun run for me was Bill Lambing being presented with his recovered Trepang.

A snippet of video from that moment is posted below.

IMHO, this is EXACTLY what the Subcommittee is SUPPOSED to be about. Friends helping friends, going out of their way. You gentlemen have a very special group, and should be proud of what you represented this weekend: the best of the 'committee's values. A very touching moment that nobody there will soon forget.

Wow Tony's speech only went 2:24, Seemed much much longer.

The event was not only a success because of the planning and setup of the whole day but because of the people that came to participate at the event. A big Thank You goes out to all our friends for coming out and sharing the day with us.

Here are a few pictures I managed to get.

                          I did not want to

I did not want to forget to give a special thanks to Kevin the tugboat captain extraordinaire for his excellent piloting skills in the rescue of my floundering FS-1.
                          Thank you Sir!!
You saved not just my sub but me from the verbal abuse that was being directed upon me from my fellow 8-balls.
They were like sharks at a feeding frenzy.
                          Let’s put it this way.
I did not see anyone else with a semi-functioning FS-1 except Dr Art.

O the joys of being the subron-8 Commodore!!

No worries Dave. Yours was not the only boat that day that required emergency rescue. That little tug pays for itself over and over.
