PHOTOS Spring 2009 SubRon 6 Fun Run

We had a great time at our end of Spring run in Carmel this Father's Day weekend. Had a good turnout and although it threatened rain on Friday as we rolled into town, the Saturday weather was fantastic!

We had dinner at "Friday's" restaurant on Friday night. Then on Saturday, after the great free breakfast at the Comfort Suites (in spite of John's "adventure" with the waffle iron! ) we pulled into the pond parking lot around 9 AM. We set up our tables and started putting boats in the water. After a long winter's layup, most of the boats had SOME sort of issue, but we got them tuned up and back into the water.

If you live in the midwestern USA states and are interested in subs, please drop me a PM so we can get you on our email list for notification of our next run!

I hope you enjoy these photos half as much as we had fun!

Internals of Dave Hampton's reverse RCABS setup. Note that it takes at least one brass ball to build subs!

Dave uses a $10 Pelican waterproof box for his dual pump setup.

Dave got a high volume 12 volt valve from the auto parts store. He just asked for a valve for a '66 Chevy! With such a big model, he uses two BP cuff compressors to get the boat up and down in a hurry.

Kerry Addington put down his HD video camera for a few minutes to show us his nearly completed Seawolf.

A good turnout on a fantastic day!

A boy was visiting his grandparents who live next to the pond and he came down to see what was going on. Kerry let him run his USS Seawolf.

Man, these fun runs are EXCITING!!!

WTC gears jumped the track and needed a little TLC.

Steve Jensen in the bandana is one of the fellows you probably recognize from the last few SubRegattas as a Radio Czar. Steve is a former biker and semi-driver for the band "Chicago" (really!) He sang backup on one of their albums.
