It is with some sadness that I wish to report that the July SR 4 meeting ended with a tragic accident. As we were getting ready to depart, a local man drowned not too very far from where we ran our boats. Chris Nutting and Steve Sinkwich are to be commended for their efforts in trying to help resuscitate the victim. Chris swam out and helped get him onto a diving platform and assisted in the CPR efforts. Steve made the 911 call and helped to direct the rescue personnel to the scene. I wish to thank them for their willingness to help. I also wish that we all take time to remember how easy it is to get in trouble in/on the water. We've managed to keep our hobby pretty safe over the years, here's hoping the trend continues to favor us.
