    Needed fairly soon..

I'm approaching the point with the building of Seaquel 5 where I need to spend some of the girlfriend's hard earned cash [hope she don't see this...] so I'm looking out for a decent five channel 27/40 mgs radio complete with mini servos [if possible] and a electronic speed controller. I'd rather line the pockets of one of you guys instead of helping a big commercial buisness get bigger, so if anyone has what I need for a fairly low financial outlay....

    Cheers,

    Rich

    The only complete set I've

The only complete set I've seen supplied with mini or micro servos is Spectrum gear, and you don't want that stuff in a sub.

I'd go for 40mhz if I were you, much less prone to interference.

I think you'll have better luck angling for a S/H set on the Mayhem forum TBH, as there are only about three or four U.K based modelmakers who frequent this forum.

        Thanks Andy...I've always used Futaba

Thanks Andy...I've always used Futaba in the past, never let me down one, not even in the deep end of the Prince Regent Pool in Brighton with the Patrick Henry sat on the bottom.

I'll go trawling over at MBM then...ta.

        Cheers,

          ebay or any local UK

ebay or any local UK competitor to it ?
you want 40 mhx transmitter, 4 to 5 channels, matching receiver, crystals, esc and a few micro servos.

            I had a look around

I had a look around on ebay, nothing suitable at all really. I need the tx/rx, four servos, ESC and a mixer to operate the pod mounted motor individually and also to swivel them independantly as well.

            More expense....

            Cheers,

            Rich

              I would recommend a Hyperion/Berg

I would recommend a Hyperion/Berg receiver. These have microprocessors which clean up the signal, leading to zero glitching and buitl in programmable failsafe. You can get an 8 channel receiver, which is tiny, for about thirty quid.

Mini servos can be had for under a fiver now-

Buy .x, .crypto, .eth and other web3 domains to own your digital identity

                  For control of twin thrusters,

For control of twin thrusters, you may want to look at these boards-

                  http://www.dimensionengineering.com/Sab ... 2X10RC.htm

Two ESC's and a mixer built in for tank like control of the thrusters, all for about thirty quid- very compact too.

It comes with a built in BEC, but you will need a bit more oomph as the BEC can only supply a very modest current. Their range of switchmode BEC's are well worth a gander.

Man, where do you find this stuff? That will be perfect for what I need, should be able to turn Seaquel 5 in it's own length with contol like that. The idea is to use the thrusters not only to aid direction changes but to submerge and surface with them...I haven't room at the stern end to add dive vanes.

                    Thanks Andy..you are my hero!
