    1000 Island Cottage Sub Regatta

    Gent's

The plan this year is to hold my Cottage Sub Regatta the weekend of Sept 8th - 9th (the weekend AFTER the long weekend).

You are more then welcome to attend, and would strongly encourage it ... getting bored of taking photo's and video of the same boats year after year.

For the most part there is adequate room to sleep lots of folks.

Here are a couple of photo's to give you an idea of the running conditions, it's a sheltered bay with a sand beach and a dock. The depth at the end of the dock is about 6 feet. Basically an ideal site for running subs.

Did I mention the water is crystal clear?

My cottage is just outside of Gananoque, Onatario ... (4 minute boat ride)

Think about it and let me know.

    Cheers

Guys, this could work out better than you might imagine. I will explain Saturday, then we might further consider Ben's invitation.

          David, no I'm taking him

David, no I'm taking him there to help get setup. Then he is on his own

For me, a trip up north would do us all well. The water clarity up at the 1000 islands is great, nothing like that around here.

            Well, you guys really missed

Well, you guys really missed out on a great time. Our Canadian brethren are a really innovative group and a fun bunch of guys to run with. There were some familiar faces and lots of new friends. The weather Saturday was perfect. Thanks Ben for the top notch hospitality. I had to head home early, so I missed the second day of the festivities. I trust the rain Sunday didn't dampen anyone's spirits (double pun intended). Here are some teaser photos I shot. I'm sure Ben will be posting more from the 100+ that he took.

              George,

Thanks for coming ... having you there means that the cottage regatta has gone international.... I like the sound of that.

Next year damnit ... plan on staying over night. You missed some awesome deep fried turkey (it came out better then I expected, but took longer then I expected too ... which is why you got burgers, sorry) .. and sub chat around a bonfire with Southern Comfort as a side dish.

              Then desert came out ...

Anyways your Gato is looking great ... here are a couple of photo's for all to see.

Thanks again for coming ... and spread the news.

              Cheers

                  Paul,

Think about what dates typically work for you guys and let me know. We missed some of our locals as it was in Sept ... next year will probably be earlier to get them there.

                  George,

I know one of your concerns was getting folks back and forth. Here is a photo of the boat you didn't see.

So we should be good for getting people and equipment back and forth.

                  Cheers

                    I will have to work

                    Ben,

I will have to work on the rest of the group, I know getting CI up there won't be a problem Not sure what is the best time for all of us, I think we need to do some major planning on our end. How much earlier would you hold your event?

thanks Ben, I think July would be perfect seeing that the SC regatta is in August...

Just took a look at your posted pics from the event, just amazing work. The flying subs are a treat to see all together !
