    Edinburgh SubDay - 24th June 2007

Edinburgh Model Boat Club will be running our first SubDay at Inverleith Pond on Sunday 24th June with sailing and submerging from noon. This is in addition to our usual Funday activities.
Anyone with a sub is welcome to come along and have a look or compete in a simple competition. It should be good fun and interesting too.

        I've got my fingers crossed

I've got my fingers crossed for this event. As far as we know it's the first SubFest to be run in Scotland so it's something of an unknown quantity. I'll have my Kilo, Oyashio, Turbulent, UB-16 and of course the big Eden LA there plus an unbuilt Permit. There will be a further 9 subs belonging to members of Edinburgh Model Boat Club and Davy and hopefully some other visitors too. At least it's a start and something we intend to build on in the future. We will also be running a small sailing and diving course to entertain the spectators.
Thannks for your good wishes Ramesh.

          Good stuff.

Please could someone posts a few pictures and maybe a few lines of the days activities, and I'll forward this on to be included in the next report.

          Cheers

            Andy

I'll make sure that pictures and a report are posted in due course. I doubt it'll attract quite as many folk who turned up to our SailFest last Sunday though - over 80 yachts and boats and an estimated 3,000 spectators who stayed more than 15 minutes! That was kind of exceptional. Many of them were intrigued by the 4 subs that were there and said they would return on our SubDay as they all seemed to want to see more of them. One interesting 'event' that occurrred was our Secretary who was seen towing a 60lb barge with his 'Seehund'

              Hi Andrew,

Thanks for arranging a very enjoyable day at Edinburgh.
Lots of models and a steering course that sorted out the men from the boys!

Some photos above. Perhaps you could say what models were there?

Thanks also to your Club for a friendly welcome and all that cake!
