Missile firing pin problem

I’m in the process of manufacturing a missile. I have followed a number of guides illustrating the process but, I’m having no end of trouble getting an air tight seal around the firing pin.

Is there an optimum firing pin size?

Or has anyone got an idiot proof guide for construction?
