Hi Tim,
I'm very much interested in the 2nd to the last pic you posted. It looks too small to be a Revell Gato. Any more info you could share about this particular model.
It is Bob Gesking's Scale Shipyard 1/96 scale Gato equipped with a Small World Models twin shaft WTC. There are a couple of other interior shots in the series of pictures of the pool run I posted on Feb 12.
This is what he said about it...
Here's some of the tech info on my 1:96 SSY GATO. Radio is a Futaba T6XAS computer radio on Ham 01 (50.820 MHz). The receiver is a Sombra Labs Shadow 1 synthesized 6 channel unit. The Shadow 1 was esigned and operates on all frequencies in the 50/53 MHz, 72 MHz and 75 MHz bands. The Shadow 1 is no loger made, but has been replaced by the Shadow 3 synthesized 7 channel receiver. The dimensions of the receiver are 1 & 3/8" long, 7/8" wide, & 1/2" high. The Shadow receivers work with all brands of transmitter. A Msonik Marine 15 (15A) ESC controls the two SubTech motor drive units. The radio functions are: Ch 1 - rudder; Ch 2 - bow planes; Ch 3 - ESC; Ch 4 - ballast tank; Ch6 - stern planes (rotary knob - airplane flap control). SubTech SubSafe and APC are installed. The APC is connected to the stern planes. I'm still in the lead & foam trimming stage of the model and have completed 6 runs with it.
