    The Tadley show is held

[color=#000000]The Tadley show is held every two years. It's held at a school, and is worth attending if you bring a boat along.

I have some shots from about six years ago, which is when I last attended.

I had a little search on t'internet and came up with this-

8th October 2006 - Model and Craft Show - The Hurst School, Baughurst, Tadley, Nr. Basingstoke, Hants RG26 5NL - Organiser]

        Hi Guys.

Really disapointed that I didn't make Norwich on Sunday. Had a little family emergency to attend to in the morning. By the time I was free it was to late

I was hoping to meet up with you guys face to face. Ho Hum.

Judging by the images a lot of fun was had.

        Mike

            Hi All,

            Sorry to post this

            Hi All,

Sorry to post this message in parts - photo problems!

An excellent day at Norwich despite the rain! The thunderstorm provided a white foam for atmospheric results - see photos.

Many thanks to Paul Cooke and the Norwich Model boat club for an excellent day and the chance to share their great facilities (See photo)

It was quite an experience to control ones sub in torrential rain from the dry, comfort of the upstairs balcony!

              I spy Ramesh in one

I spy Ramesh in one corner of your photos, Dave.

Looks like he is using a conventional aerial on his Fc16 too.

Ramesh, do you have range problems with the rubber duck aerial I saw you using at the North London Sub Run?

                Well spotted! Hi Ramesh!

I'm afraid that Ramesh must be one of the many who I didn't get a chance to talk to.

With 30 subs and only a one day event cut short by rain, it was difficult from the social point of view..

BTW the other guy holding my transmitter is Patrick, an intrepid Vicar who we were visiting.

Next year, I plan to have the Akula with me - going to be interesting as looking at the depth of the pond it won't be able to dive without grounding

                  David,

What is that yellow thing is your 2nd picture? Don't remember seeing it....

                  Regards,

                  Michael

Is it my eyes- what yellow thing?

BTW those little dayglow red/pinkish subs in one of Ramesh's pics (behind the Type XXI), anyone know anything about them?

I saw a yellow one of those at Sandown, looked cute, and seems an ideal subject for a cheap beginners model.

                        Ramesh, do you have range

Ramesh, do you have range problems with the rubber duck aerial I saw you using at the North London Sub Run?
No range problems, the problem with Trenchant at the North London run was traced to the micro reciever I was using- I am sticking with full size Futaba gear from now on! I was running up stairs to control the subs from the balcony with the radio on and the sub in the water, so I thought it was best not to take any chances with the reduced range on the rubber aerial. The rubber one is great for indoors and negotiating doorways to the bath while carring a sub in one hand the controler in another You can damage the RF module if you operate the radio without the metal aerial fully extended.

That yellow thing way an amphi car with 4 wheels for running on the ground and a kort nozzle for the water (no I coulndn't get it to submerge permanently despite my best efforts...

Sorry I missed you David, I recognised your sub later.

Glad the "little yellow thing" mystery was cleared up.

Patrick "the Vicar" took the photograph!

And no, I don't always take a Vicar to the pond to ensure Resurgam!

I can say, from years of use that the Jeti REX 4 is an excellent micro receiver. Works with 35 or 40mhz, and I've never had range or interference problems.

I think I'll order one of those Rubber duck aerials for my own TX.

Message for Paul Cook if he looks in.

Do you know if the press photographers shots appeared in the local newspaper, Paul?

                              Thanks again for organising everything.
