      Hi guys.
      I will be there

      Hi guys.
I will be there on Fri and Sunday. My model subs will be with the Bournville Model Yacht & Power boat stand.
I am taking my Nautilus, type VII, and 688 LA (working on this at the moment).

I used to be a Subcommittee UK member a while back. Met Alec at the NEC with Subtech this year and bought some guts to go in my U-boat. I said I must re-join, but haven't got around to it yet. I guess the membership runs from Jan-Dec am I right?
The old issues of the SCR are really proving usefull - loads of hints and tips for the LA 688 I am working on in there.

Steve, I used to be a member of the Bournville club. And once I get my Akula up and running in 2007, I'll be running it there.

Good to see some people will be going.

I hope to bring along my HFM Deep Dive, making a new WTC for it next week. Andy, you going to be there?

Only going to be able to make it on Sunday sadly. Family commitments....

                  Ummm, not exactly. Truth be

Ummm, not exactly. Truth be told none are working at this moment (but don't tell anyone at the show )
The U-boat is a WIP scratchbuild project - I only bought the WTC and R/C gubbins at the NEC show this summer. So that's waiting to be fitted in. She has yet to hit the water.

The LA nuke sub is just a fibre glass hull shell that was given to me when one of the guys quit subs. It needs a lot of work, and then needs fitting out with a complete dive system. I might even pickup some bits for this at this show.

The Nautilus is the only one which was operational. Then I did a stint for TV production, filming her in the shark tank at the National Sealife Centre. Ended up completely flooded out (well the director wanted her on the bottom - thats a good 30ft down! What was I thinking!?! Good job the fishing line held ). Well the salt water totalled Every thing inside. So even she is drydocked. People say I should get her back on the water again, but I feel like I want to have fun with a different sub now. Been there done that with the Nautilus. I feel like she has clocked up her 20,000 leagues, and now she is probably retired.

So, you missed when Subcommittee UK used to meet at Bournville then?

                    I may be going along,

I may be going along, but only as a visitor.

I didn't renew my AMS subscription last year, although I still say hello to the guys whenever I see their stand at shows.

                      Well, if I can change

Well, if I can change my appointment at the gym (decided I need to get fit again), then I hope to be there on Saturday.

                      Paul.

How big is this show then? How many subs?

                        I've never been before, but

I've never been before, but I've heard it's a good show.

Anyone's guess as to how many subs will be present, it varies quite a bit. Some photo's from the London model engineering show earlier this year-

                              ONE WORD OF WARNING!

..the food and drink prices there are EXTORTIONATE.
eg two (polystyrene) cups of tea and a bun didn't give much change from a fiver. I kid you not.

This year it will be a packed lunch and flask for me.
