SubRon 8 May 2026 Outdoor Pond Fun Run

Yesterday we had our first outdoor Pond Fun Run.

The weather was perfect. Clear sky, mid 70’s and
because this spring we are having alot of rain, the pond
    is full and crystal clear.

Almost all 8 Balls were present. Bruce Martin from SUBCON ON
joined us also. Many Subs and targets patrolled the pond all morning
with a break for lunch. (Thank You Don May for bringing a grill and
    cooking for everyone.)

Out at the end of the pond, we were visited by 2 medium size turtles.
When Bruce ventured out their way to patrol the turtle sighting, his
skipjack became stuck. Could it be one of the turtles grabbed the
skipjack’s rudder and refused to let go???
Greg went out to investigate the disabled Sub.
Only to find the SkipJack was bitten by the weed monster!
Greg was able to maneuver the sub to shore and de-weed the prop.
    All was well.

After Lunch everyone grabbed what fresh batteries they had left and
ran their subs and targets. After running for over and hour and a half
Don O’s Minion Sub ran out of battery power. Luckily the sub was not
far from shore. Again Greg had to go to the rescue. His famous rescue
tug was retrieved from the van and it pushed the sub the rest of
    the way to shore.

Greg also performed successful sea trials on his modified Robbe
Sea-Wolf. He had installed a custom Bayonet ring instead of using
the stock O ring configuration to seal the motor and electronics.
Last we heard, the Sea-Wolf just needed a little more weight
    in the bow. (Busy day!)

As usual it was a good time had by all.

    Here are some pics.

How about like the fish in Finding Nemo? Nice pun on the Nautilus...

That might freak out the fish and the turtles at the pond, but a possibility that could been highly visible in the pond
