SubRon 8 December 2025 Indoor Y Fun Run

Yesterday we had our December Indoor Y run. All SubRon 8
Captains were in attendance except Don Spielberger and Paul.
Chris ran his Deep Flight II sub, Greg ran the Scamp Sub
(SkipJack Class), I ran the Boone Sub (Lafayette Class),
Patti ran the Flying Sub (FS1), Larry, George and
    Don May ran Targets.

All subs and Targets ran well until…..

Chris’s Deep Flight II was patrolling the deep end of the pool,
when he noticed a something at the bottom of the pool.
Could it be Santa’s Elves playing down there or taking a break
and snacking on a candy cane?
Could it be the dreaded weed monster?
(Naaaa…there is too much pool chemicals in the water..)

Next thing we know.. the Deep Flight II sub was sucked down
to the bottom of the deep end!!
    Chris Yells for HELP!!!

No Problem.. Our trusty Lifeguard took his long net and
with Greg’s help the sub was rescued!

All Kidding aside we wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas,
Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year!

Love it! Thank you for posting!

If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

well luckily my Scamp didn't join Chris's boat on the bottom . I have been reballasting the boat for submerged balance and I don't have enough weight to static dive properly yet. This saved me as I was having low voltage battery issues. As it turns out the solenoid valve to reinflate me bladder stopped functioning and would not allow a proper surface. The positive buoyancy saved my and I drove it back successfully. A new sla battery has been requisitioned to correct the problem

Somehow that darn Weed Monster lobbed a depth charge at my sub, all the way from its pond. Thats my story and I'm sticking to it! 8-)
