    Subron 8 funrun 7/21/24

Today we had our funrun at the private pond. The weather was perfect. Chris ran into problems when his Deep Flight sub refused to surface. I sent my DJI drone up for an air/sea rescue and was able to spot it in 6 feet of water. Him and Paul launched the canoe and were successful in pushing it into shallow water for retrieval. Here are some pics of the day. It's always a good day when you go home with all the boats you brought with you.

Other than that minor hiccup it was a great day out. The drone was a huge help in directing the entire emergency rescue team, Paul and I, out to where it was visiting Davey Jones! 8-)

Yesterday we had our July outdoor fun run. We have had a lot of very hot weather,
but our pond is treated. There were a lot of brown algae blobs floating around the
pond, but the pond was mostly weed free! We had a good showing of 8 Ball Captains,
      with the exception of George.

As Larry and Chris mentioned, Chris’s Deep Flight II Sub decided to investigate the
bottom of the pond for any Weed Monster Sightings! In the process, the WTC
decided to take on enough water to leave the Sub disabled at the bottom of the
pond as bait for the Weed Monster! As Luck has it, Larry brought his drone and
was able to locate the sunken sub! (Great Pics Larry!)

Coming to the rescue was the seasoned Canoe Captain Paul. Captain Paul and Chris
boarded the canoe and off they went to rescue the sunken Sub. With the help
of Captain Paul’s great canoe steering ability, Larry’s drone hovering over the
sunken Sub left for weed monster bait, and Don O’s 8 foot extender boat pole,
Chris was able to jar the sub from the bottom of the pond and recover his lost Sub.

      A good day at Sea!

Other than that adventure, everyone else ran their boats and enjoyed the nice weather.

Here are a couple more pics.

Just wait until Chris gets the bill for that air/sea search. And the sub ended up ~20 feet from last sighting. It would probably have been a l-o-n-g search without the DJI mini 4pro.
