    October 2021 Indoor Y Run

Yesterday we enjoyed an indoor SubFun Run at our local YMCA. Due to
Covid it has been approximately 2 years since our last indoor Sub Fun Runs.
We will be running once a month thru May.

The Water was great, (No Weed Monster to fight!) the 8 Ball Sub Captains were all
present and it was just great to be back to some sort of normal events!

Chris Rueby ran his New Shark Sub, Greg ran the Toot and his Cylon Raider,
George ran his FS1, Larry ran his Akula, Donnie ran his Engel Type 212, I ran the
Boone, and Patti ran her FS1. Paul was an observer and hopefully will bring
one of his subs or targets soon! D3 had to leave early so hope to see him next month.

Wow, that looked like fun! I find it great to finally be able to run with like minded really important for my motivation. This looked like a great outing. Thank you for posting!
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

It was great to get back to the pool again and run with everyone. A couple more pics of the Shark sub, kit-bashed from a Skipjack hull and a bunch of 3D printed parts.

It was sticking its head up looking for a nice tugboat to eat...

The black band in front of the cockpit is a velcro strap to assist the front hold-down, which was mis-behaving.

Handled quite well, the large tail fins gave excellent steering/diving response.
