Next Official SubRonLA Fun Run on 7-10-21

    Guys,

Am hereby announcing the next official SubRonLA Fun Run at Yorba Regional Park will take place on Saturday, July 10. This gives everyone LOTS of prior notice, and I hope it also means Tom can come in from Vegas to join us as well. (Hey, how about dragging Neil Schmidt along with you?) FYI, I am now fully vaccinated and expect by now that all of you are too.

Obviously, any/all of you are more than welcome to meet and run boats any other day or place as well—I always encourage that—but this will be our next official full-squadron run.

FYI, my broken wing has healed enough to join you with lightweight little Blueback, and maybe Seaview by then as well, but Nautilus is still too big and heavy at this point. Her day will come.

Thanks, and looking forward to seeing you there!

    Keep a level bubble,
    Jeff

    I first things first.
I will be there unless something comes up I can not postpone.

On other sits it is posted that this event is FREE.
    This is true.

However, there is a park entry fee of $5.00 per car for the day.

2 days until we meet at the lake.
Time to gather up all the boats, tools and support stuff needed.
Today is battery charging day and looking over the boat to make sure they are ready.
If anything is not ready, I have today and tomorrow to deal with it.

Looking forward to the 15 to 20 degrees cooler weather the park offers.
      ================
      Mid day update:

Akula II and Rescue Barge batteries charged.
2 transmitters checked out and batteries charged.
Also 2 extra Tx batteries charge.

I did a little work on the Gato but mostly I gathered up tools for Saturday lake visit.

Tomorrow, I will move tools and support stuff to living room.
I will also gas up the car while in town at noon.

I will hose off my canvas chair.
There is so much dust that the green fabric looks tan.
Load car in the evening after the sun goes down.
      I am ready.

I didn't do any counting but let's see what I remember.

I believe there were 8 captains, maybe more.
More than 10 subs and some surface boats.

1 sub rescued after battery expended.

          Not all boat were ran.
There was a lot of algae hair (real fine and free floats) in the water and some did not want to have that going through their pumps or pistons.
          Weather was about 80 to 85 F.
          No wind to light wind.

There was bench testing of equipment that was not working right.
Some got fixed and some were found to be defective.

          It was a good day. . . . . until I got home (2:30pm) to 119 F on my front porch.
