Yesterday we had our scheduled August Fun Run at the pond.
As with this new norm, we all wore our face masks and social distanced.
We spent the first hour clearing the weeds out so as to have some pond space to run.
(Thank You Greg for the supplied rakes!) The pond water level was also down which
did not help.
Greg and Chris ran their Hydra Subs, Donnie had his air boat, Larry ran his Akula,
Patti ran the FS1 and I ran the Robbe Seawolf. George also brought a target to run.
We must have upset the pond weed moster. As Greg was banking his Hydra sub,
witness accounts saw the weed monster grab Greg’s Hydra sub by the port side
Nacell and flip the Hydra Sub upside down! Greg, being the seasoned Sub captain
he is, was able to run the boat to shore so he could right it and continue running
the Hydra sub normally.
Everyone had a great time running. It was great to get together again and trade stories
of future Sub related projects and general BS.
