    Hi Brian,

    Funruns are normally considered

    Hi Brian,

Funruns are normally considered events that are hosted by some members of a Local Chapter and any costs that may be associated with holding the event are borne by the members of the Chapter and possibly other attendees.

The SubCommittee, as the parent organization, can and does assist with advertising in the SCR and making the SC banner available.

Since funruns have traditionally been considered informal, periodic gatherings...the question of additional funding has not come up.

      There is no charge for

There is no charge for SubRon6 Fun Runs- (or anyone else's as far as I know.) We are a self sufficient bunch and try to keep it simple and cheap (no cost to anybody) and low maintenance = minimum work / maximum fun.

The city of Carmel Indiana lets us use the pond - thanks to the good work of Chris Campbell, president of the of the Indy Admirals Model Boat Club and SubCommittee member. We bring our own tables, chairs, tools, batteries, and positive attitudes. You bring whatever you need to have a good time -but no whining, griping, pi$$ing &/or moaning allowed.

We had our own banner made thanks to the donations and labors of a number SR6 members so we don't have to ask the SC to expend funds to ship the SubCommittee banner.

Anyone can come to watch, but we ask that people running boats are current (paid up) members of the SubCommittee so if you have "forgotten" or "been too busy" or "just moved" and have not renewed your membership - get on the stick and send your SC membership check to SubCommittee membership chairman - Jim Butt.

NOTE - Jerome Simon will be posting a map to the pond on the SubRon6 website (www.subron6.com) in a couple of days. We will also have the street address so you can do your own MapQuest map for directions.

Some of us will be getting together late Friday afternoon for a quick hull wet down in the pond, then go to eat - probably to Don Pablo's - as they have been very good about setting us up with a long table for 20-25 people.

If you would like to see what the May 2003 run looked like- go to www.subron6.com and click on the photogallery. I have also some shots posted on my website on the SubRegattas page.
