I was checking my up coming doctor visits and see this event is just two weeks from now.
          Still planning on being there.

This made me realize I need to get everything together and make sure all batteries are charge up.
I see by my schedule I have a couple of days I can do this.

          Oh, the panic is settling.
No panic really, because I would just reschedule the doctor thing if there was a conflict. hee hee

            Hi guys,

My thanks and congrats to those who turned up for another fun r/c sub run at our usual spot at Yorba Regional Park yesterday. The usual core stalwarts were on hand: Will, Mike, Ralph, Farlan and myself, plus newcomer from last time (but experienced r/c hobbyist), David Moran, who brought and ran an impressive large-scale tugboat...apparently an old, retired brute with which he’d been tinkering lately to bring back to life—and new life it had! (I regret to see now that I didn’t get any photos of it.) It remains to be seen whether Dave will eventually abandon his target hijinks for a submarine like the rest of us. Hope so.

I was there boatless myself (recovering from recent eye surgery), but the usual suspects all brought their rainbow of regular beasts. On hand was a Skipjack, 212 U-boat, Akula, Blueback, Sjoormen, and others. All got in significant stick time; there were no collisions nor major breakdowns or founderings, and much sub hobby talk was enjoyed. A highlight was seeing Farlan happily watch his troublesome Blueback finally performing pretty much like he’s always had in mind. He’s so close now; a few more tweaks and she’ll really be dialed in. Jon Lim and his Viking rowers and scratchbuilt fantasy boomers were notably missing (under the weather, we heard), and Tom Chalfant and Steve Neill were absent as well. (For awhile it looked like Steve would make the drive this time, but alas... Well, we’ll certainly hope for next time.)

Below are a few photos. Hope you MIA’s can join us in March.

            JeffP
