That build in progress is a fun looking sub!
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

The artist Moebius (Jean Giraud) drew this in HEAVY METAL magazine a lifetime ago!!

Been looking for drawing of that sucker for YEARS! I thought it was done before, or at least an attempt at it!

Is this the very same one I saw/dreamt about once upon a dream??

There was a finished one in Groton many years ago. IIRC, it ran pretty sweet. Sir Jackie something..... I miss Heavy Metal! Ordered my first airbrush from the ads in the back of it. Still have it. Cheech Wizard was my hero! Along with Al Bundy, of course!!

I see Ralph has as usual beat me to posting about our squadron run last Saturday—thanks, m'boy! Just finished writing up coverage of same with my own pix for the FOX column of the upcoming December SCR. Yes, new-to-SubRonLA member Ben Brigham's Sir Frankie Crisp is certainly one unusual boat—glad to see others already posting about it in this thread! Mike Dory truly controlled the North Atlantic with his formidable, perfectly running giant Type VII, John Lim ran all his fanciful scratchbuilt creations, and Will and Ralph enjoyed satisfying runs as usual too. All had fun with no major accidents nor boats lost—a good day. Continuing tech issues kept my Nautilus dry this time, but we'll get the bugs out of her soon. For those who noticed or care, the huge hull separation gap in her photo above is because her deck is not actually screwed down in the shot; it's just loosely sitting atop the hull. Anyway, thanks to all who showed up and commiserations to those of our regular tribe who couldn't make it. We missed you.

Our next full squadron run is now slated for Saturday, December 14th at the usual spot—which I will now announce in a separate posting.

                Thanks, guys,
                JeffP

I was very interested in the article in the SCReport #50 on the Sir Frankie Crisp? What subregatta d

Looks like there is a build article in SCR no. 50
