LA Class 1:72 scale - first test run!

On Sept 8, I ran my LA Class for the first time in the open water at the beautiful Riverside Park in Guelph, ON! Given the amount of time I have been working on this thing, it was kind of a big deal for me. So I asked Bruce Martin to video it.

Not surprisingly there are still some kinks to work out. But, overall I was happy with the performance even though it was limited to a surface run this time.
Big thanks to the guys in the SubComON group for their tips, components, materials etc in helping me get here.

First runs are always exciting! Nothing like getting some validation for all the work that has gone into building an R/C sub.

Congratulations! Yeah, this will get your heart pumping. I still get jitters every time I launch a new sub. The best is yet to come! Just wait until the sub dives and comes back up. Keep up the great work. It sounds like you have a great mentor there!
        Peace,
        Tom
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.
