ALCON,
This SUBCOMLI "FACEBOOK GROUP" was originally set up as a private discussion site for members of the local chapter, Subcommittee Members, and any other interested individual who wished to join. The purpose had been in providing a public forum in allowing them to post what was personally going on with them with respect to the RC Submarine hobby. In addition, to keep local (LI) members updated with events.
In the past three years or so, with the exception of one or two postings, I was the sole contributor. Therefore, the need for a “SubCommittee Long Island” Facebook group is not valid after all. Honestly, you folks were only seeing my stuff. Personally, I do not mind being the only voice out here, but I‘m not getting anything out of it, and you folks only see my “point of view”. Therefore, I think an actual discussion group is best suited by online forums like the “SubCommittee Forums” or “RC Sub Forums”. I highly suggest you avail yourself of them for information OTHER than upcoming events, and photo’s of events on LI for the RC Submariner.
Some SC members in the past had mentioned to me their dislike using the SC forums or message boards in general…..for whatever reason. However, they are the same folks who are not posting here. Believe me when I say that this is not a jab at any group or person, I just don’t see the need for a “group” with “one voice”. This is NOT a group, it’s a soloist.
On January 31st I will be dissolving the SCLI Facebook “Group”, and replacing it with a SCLI Facebook “Page”. Content will be limited to SCLI News, upcoming events and reports (pictures) of events as a Group (not as me alone). Note: No change to the SubComLI Youtube Channel.
I should have the new “Page” up by then.
So if you’re still interested, all you have to do is “Like” the new SuComLI page when it comes online by the end of the month to follow along regarding events concerning the SubCommittee Long Island Chapter.
If you DO wish to participate and learn more than I have to offer, again I highly suggest using the SubCommittee or RC Sub forum. Just Google “SubCommittee forum” and “Home - The Sub-drivers Forum - RC-Sub.com” if you never been there.
If you were digging my stuff, you can follow me now on Instagram: QuarterMaster631. It’s dedicated to MY RC Submarine hobby (it’s just so damn easy to post there!) But don’t be surprised by the occasional Chihuahua photo….what can I say, every good dad loves his kids. Stuff that is more detailed will be posted on the aforementioned forums and the SubComLI Youtube Channel. If you have a Google account, I have tons of Album stuff there.
May your surfacing’s always equal your submerging’s……..
"Sub" Ed
END OF POST
Those of you in the NY Metro/Tristate area who wish to follow SubComLI on Facebook for events, you can find us with @SUBCOMLI
Have a great day fellow shipmates!
