Yorba Linda is a great place

This past Friday, I had to recover from a procedure. What is a great way to do that? running subs with a friend or two!
I had the opportunity to meet up with Will Oudmayer and Jeff Porteous. The water was clear and the day was perfect. I brought my Sjoormen and Will brought his Skipjack. We ran for 3+ hours.
Will did a bit of showing off.
First he showed off that he could park his sub (in perfect balance) on the back of my sub.

Then showed off by diving under my sub when I was surfaced. SHOW OFF!

If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

Very nice, Tom. That is clear water for a natural site. Was Jeff's Blueback still in the yard?
    Warm regards,

Jeff's boat was still in dry dock. He plans to have it for the 8th.

Just got back from the Yorba Linda run with the SubRonLA guys.
        What a great time.
I had a couple of issues. One was I put a camera mount on my Neptune, but did not test it before hand, it was way too heavy. Then my transmitter battery for the Neptune died.....it may be going bad. Grrrr!
The Sjöormen submarine ran well AFTER a bit of human error (meaning operator error). I had turned a dial used for diving all the way over (I actually do not use it much) throwing everything off. Will Oudmayer helped disassemble the tube so we could do a field repair. Once it was "fixed" Will noticed what I had done so we opened it up again so we could undo the "fix". After that she ran so we'll.....

So relaxing.......I say with a cool exterior facade.
While inside my reaction is more like this while diving

Jeff had his Blueback running after a major refit.
Should have seen his face when he brought it in after the first test run.
Not a drop of water in the wtc.
Back in to the water and a repeat run.
Jeff had his boat in the water so long he ran his first battery almost dead.
Changed batteries and off he went again.
End the morning and still not a drop of water in the wtc.
I have never seen such a wide smile on Jef's face while running his Blueback.
