    SubComEast Build Day

Jim hosted a SubComEast build day at his house, and there were a lot of amazing projects on display. Joe brought a USS Nautilus that he is currently preparing to build, Eric was sanding the hull on his Ohio, Ace was doing electrical work on his 212, and Jeff had a Type XXI. Jim has an amazing array of boats as well. Dad and I brought the WTC for the Guitarro and did several dunk tests trying to track down the many leaks.

There was a joke that soon SubComEast will have more German 212's then the German navy. It is hard to see but in the second picture there are actually three 212s in the image. There were four there all together.

These are some of Jim's boats that were on display. I am very excited to see the Holland running.

      Mike,

Thanks so much for posting the pictures, and coming to the build day last Saturday. We're going to try and make this a regular happening, it really seems to be helping and motivating guys to get some building done.

I'm hoping that you'll see the Holland running by the April meet. I'll have to bore you sometime with the story behind that boat, it's had quite a life so far since the hull was laid up in roughly 1995.

What a fun time. Sorry I missed it. It is amazing how those types of meetings will motivate progress on projects. Keep it up!
        Warm regards,

Jim and I had a great time moving from table to table helping everyone out. We had a combination of building and troubleshooting going on. Loads of great questions and folks getting things done.

So guys, when should we do it again? Before the next pool session? After?

This is a really great idea, Guys! Well done! Maybe we can encourage more of these in other locations in the Country.
                Best Regards,

                Matt

How about March 24th? Just about in between the March and April meets.

I see that Joe Deman has ordered a Type 212a. That makes *five* that will be part of the SubComEast fleet. We will have almost as big a fleet as the 1:1 boats in Germany.

It's looking like Jim and I should do a build article on this boat......
