    LA Subron 1-13-2018

    Now running with a OTW cylinder and after two Saturdays trimming the boat runs true and level. Pitch is accomplished with the prop. That was also very effective. Finally after 5 years of owning this boat and fiddling with it, it runs great.

    This went from a pile of junk that UPS ran over (and still delivered) to a beautiful model of one of the greatest submarines of all time.

    Thanks Jeff for another great day at the pond. Weather was about 80 and light winds. Just perfect. This is why we love California.

              Nice work Steve. How about a movie feature showing your Nautilus cruising the depths.

                  Scott funny you'd mention that but my cycle cart has been with a friend to weld the frame for quite some time now and we were just talking about that yesterday. I plan to get the frame next week and just pay someone to weld it. The body will look like a Lotus super 7.

                          Hey Steve,

                          Many thanks for posting your Nautilus video here in the SubRonLA forum! I've obviously been remiss in providing a report on our Saturday run in this space, and it was so great to see you get your boat in the water and operating as you'd hoped after a minimum of adjustments. Can't wait to see my own Nautilus running alongside yours—it shouldn't be long now.

                          I'll write up something of our event for the FOX Schedule column in the next SCR. Meanwhile, I just want everyone to know that perhaps for the first time ever we had our ENTIRE squadron complement—every So. Cal. skipper—all turn out. It was great fun seeing everyone! Nearly everyone got something in the water and all had a good time.

                          Future dates were discussed and it was decided that our next run shall be on Saturday, March 10. We're also now planning another two-day run over the summer. I shall post all this information elsewhere on the forum and send reminders as usual.

                          Again, congrats on your Nautilus success, Capt. Nemo! I enjoyed visiting with you and Mary as always.
