    June 10th Fun Run Reminder

Greetings, fellow So. Cal. sub skippers!

Just a quick and friendly reminder that our next Fun Run in Yorba Park is coming up on Saturday, June 10th -- just under two weeks from now. Mark your calendars and start prepping those boats. I've recently been informed that Darrin H. will join us this time, and is planning on bringing some secret new project.

See you all there and ready for your closeups...

Yours in milk and honey, torpedo juice and diesel oil,
    JeffP

Since our last gathering, I bought and have assembled an Akula II, like Will and Mike's.
I have had my issues but none were the kit.
    Paint that would not cooperate.
Electronics that completely died and turned out to be a very simple soldering issue after checking every single part, separately.

This morning I did a complete check of all systems and even did a trim check in the water.

    The boat is ready.
    I am ready.

Thursday, I will do a final battery check.

      Akula II is finished.
      Tx on the charger.

I even retrimmed my Skipjack. (correctly this time)
      It is ready.
      Tx on the charger.
Washed a month's worth of desert dust off my truck.
      It is ready.
      Truck gases up.

      I am ready.
      See you all tomorrow.

Another successful Fun Run yesterday here in La-La Land. Down two regulars, unfortunately (Steve N. and Tom C. -- sorry you couldn't make it, guys), but up Darrin H., who we hadn't seen for awhile, plus a new member (John Lim, who showed up with a completely scratch-built fantasy/boomer hybrid boat -- welcome aboard, John!) to round out our roster. All managed water and stick-time, most runs showing great success. No lost boats requiring dramatic recoveries this time (always a good thing!), though a knocked-off periscope was happily retrieved off the ocean floor by means of a pool skimming pole. (Thanks again, Neil!)

Here are a few random shots. I'll now post separately in this chapter's section regarding the dates for our next run. See you there and then?

Still running hot, straight and normal,
        JeffP

More, more, more please! Water looked great! Oh how I do miss you guys when I cannot be there.
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.
