.....and here's that picture from Groton, 2013, that I was talking about. The look on Jim's face is classic This is how you launch a boat in the water, dammit!

Hey ........ great pictures guys, another fun event, good friends, good food, and we were certainly not going to let a few drops of rain stop us from floating our boats. Many thanks to all of the 8 Balls for putting this day together. It's always a pleasure to get together with the group, and always a lot of laughs. Missed you BD. Get Well.

Thanks for the shot from Groton Erich, it made my day and brought back many great memories.

Couldn't say it any better Bruce. We love getting together with you guys, it's always a lot of fun. Just wanted to thank D3 for reserving the shelter this year and Don May for doing all the cooking at the grill. Thanks to folks with boots and waders for aiding in boat launch and retrievals.

The weeds presented navigation challenges, but fortunately no boats were lost to them. Jeff almost lost an Alfa, but was able to back out of trouble. Jim had a close call with the Blueback but Greg was able to use his minion boat for a successful rescue. It rained on us about three times but it didn't last long and we just used the time in the shelter eating and talking with good friends.

We're sorry we missed it. We were in Savannah GA for he Coast Guard Tug Association reunion. We would have preferred being at your event.
