Yesterday the 8 balls and members of the Canadian mafia attended this great fun run for the 3rd year in a row. Here's some pictures. Thanks again to the Buffalo club for putting up with us again this year.

Were those fans for the sailboats? Looks like a nice turnout. I have a standing invitation to attend the surface boat runs with a few groups here whenever I get the Oscar done, but I might need Dave's excellent tug as the SSUS and the Oscar don't have bow thrusters and SSUS doesn't even have a rudder.
How'd you guys get the center to agree to this? The groups I've talked to around here can't afford the "deposits" required by a lot of the pools here.Comment

Yes, the fans were for the sailboats. I was a decent turnout but we have actually had a far better turnout previous years. Even last year when is was 5 degrees F and 20 MPH winds we had a better turnout. Not sure why the dropoff this year. The Aquaatic center actually approached the Buffalo club and asked us to be part of the "winterfest" which is a weekend long series of events to get people out of their houses during the dead of winter. In an effort to entice us to particiapte they offered us 4 hours of pool time for free. Like we needed any enticement to have 4 free hours of pool time in the middle of winter. The place bends over backwards to host us. They do all the setup and tear down and are extremely happy to have us there. I think this was the 6th year the Buffalo club has participated. We have already been invited back for next year.

Southern Or, exactly where in the Portland area are you? Reason I ask is thaat I just started working on a project for the transit authority Tri-Met and will be out there from time to time for meetings and site surveys and such. Was just there last week for the project kick off meetingComment
