My wonderful wife, I am blessed, said you better ask those guys for hotels that are not too close (read price), but have a direct shot with freeway. O.k. Guys, I need your help! What hotels to stay at?
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

        Hey there all,

Running little behind on things but here is a brief report on how things went at the Santa Clara County Model Airshow on July 11th,
I and Mark Jones have set up our tent booth early on Saturday morning for the days event. It was hot and windy as usual in the South County area in July. This is our third visit to the SCCMC show and we are becoming a regular sight there.

Phil Weber from Antioch joined us later that morning to help us out. Once we were all set up the we had non-stop visitors stopping by and asking questions. many were surprised and did not know that R/C submarines even exist. We gave out subcommittee brochures hand out fliers to our up coming Fun Run to beheld in San Francisco in September.

While the airshow has happening a wild fire broke out right a cross the field from us on the North bound lane of Hwy 101 that was less than a mile a way. All the plane doing aerial demonstration were called in to clear the air space as we were treated to a real airshow as aerial fire fighting tanker made fire retardant bombing drops around the fire to keep it from spreading further into the hills. Shot some cool video of the action.
After the fire was out the show continued without further interruption.

Needless to say that day went very well and had a great time. We broke down our booth by 4PM and decided to head out to an early dinner at a Chili's restaurant in San Jose. We look forward to doing this again next year.
