These specially designed ballast weights are made of fine lead shot encapsulated in epoxy resin, to reduce toxic lead handling. They are curved to fit the contour of the submarine, are numbered 1-6 and have arrows denoting the direction and sequence to place them.
Weighing approximately 1 lb 12 oz. they represent the bulk of weight required to balance the boat.
Simply bond into position using a dab of silicone rubber.
Also supplied is a strip of lead approx 1†x 8†for use as fine-tuning for the trimming.
