WEN offers 40mm Bofors Single Gun Mounts for 1/72 (PE 7217) and 1/144 (PE 14405). There is a problem that I first noticed in ModelXs Pilot Edition modeling magazine (www.modelx.com) article of Jeff Hernes buildup of the Revell Gato. If you look at the photos on page 20 that include the 40mm gun you will see that the Spent Shell Chute mounted on the breach does not curve inside of the Spent Shell chute on the base. 
I checked the 40mms I recently purchased from WEN and the problem seems to be how the white-metal gun was cast. However, I'm assuming that the white-metal can be bent enough so that the breach chute can be positioned inside of the base chute which is made out of photo-etch even though I haven't tried it yet.
I have sent an email to White Ensign about this asking if bending the white-metal will work and suggesting a note be added to the instruction sheet. Otherwise they would have to recast both gun sets.
