The USS Seawolf (SSN 21) has been transferred from the New London Submarine Base to Bangor, Washington. The submarine will be stationed there along with the other two Seawolf class submarines. SSN-23 (USS Jimmy Carter) is already at the Washington base, and the USS Connecticut (SSN-22), is to transfer later this summer.
The day of the Seawolf departure was announced last week, one day before she got underway. By consulting a tide table, I was able to determine the approximate time of departure, and position myself to get these last pictures of her as she left the Groton Submarine Base, and headed down theThames toward Long Island Sound.
